چکیده
IntroductionThe Goldmann Applanation Tonometer (GAT) is accepted as the gold standard tool to measure Intraocular Pressure (IOP). Besides, there an emerging Icare Rebound (RBT) which can be alternative in terms of measuring IOP.ObjectiveThis research aimed analyze agreement, and repeatability intraocular pressure (IOP) measurements compare outcomes RBT GAT among Mzuzu University Students Malawi.MethodsFor this cross-sectional study, 107 participants aged 18 29 years underwent ophthalmic examination with three IOP taken by two examiners using GAT. ResultsThe were found have a strong correlation (r=0.809, p>0.001), intra-class 0.787 (p>0.001). The mean difference measured machines was 1.99±1.05mmHg, statistically significant. However, according Bland-Altman analysis, no agreement between results given machines, bias -1.979 (CI -2.28, -1.68, p > 0.001). In repeatability, better than RBT, CR 7.512 10.418 respectively.ConclusionThe offer comparable measures. Therefore, recommended for community outreach programs where cannot employed.

Diagnostic accuracy of the iCare rebound tonometer compared to the Perkins applanation tonometer in assessing intraocular pressure in rural patients.
BACKGROUND Vision health is recognized as a critical unmet need in North America. The ocular morbidity associated with glaucoma results from increased intraocular pressure (IOP) and early detection is crucial for the management of glaucoma. Our objective was to find a diagnostically accurate screening tool for intraocular hypertension that can be used in rural communities. We sought to validate...
متن کاملEvaluation of the ICare rebound tonometer as a home intraocular pressure monitoring device.
PURPOSE (a) To investigate whether the ICare rebound tonometer can provide accurate measurements of intraocular pressure (IOP) in the hands of an inexperienced user compared with ICare measurements and Goldmann tonometry by a trained technician and (b) to assess the intrauser reproducibility of IOP measurements and the learning curve among patients using the ICare rebound tonometer. METHODS A...
متن کاملComparison of the iCare rebound tonometer and the Goldmann applanation tonometer
Tonometry is a fundamental procedure in routine ophthalmologic examination. Although regarded as the reference standard, the Goldmann applanation tonometer (GAT) has its limitations. A new portable alternative to the GAT is the iCare rebound tonometer (RT). The aim of the present study was to compare the intraocular pressure (IOP) results obtained using the RT and GAT and then correlate the res...
متن کاملNoninvasive measurement of rodent intraocular pressure with a rebound tonometer.
PURPOSE The present study evaluated the applicability of a rebound tonometer in measuring intraocular pressure (IOP) in rats and mice. METHODS The accuracy of the TonoLab rebound tonometer was determined in cannulated mouse and rat eyes. IOP was manipulated by changing reservoir height, and tonometer pressure readings were recorded by an independent observer. IOP values were recorded in consc...

PURPOSE To evaluate the usefulness of the TonoVet rebound tonometer in measuring intraocular pressure (IOP) of monkeys. METHODS The accuracy of the TonoVet rebound tonometer was determined in cannulated eyes of anesthetized rhesus monkeys where IOP was controlled by adjusting the height of a connected perfusate reservoir. To assess the applicability of the equipment through in vivo studies, t...
